Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This notice explains how Luminae handles personal information collected through luminae.org and correspondence arising from the website. It covers general enquiries, contact from education professionals and requests to hear from us.

Who to contact

Luminae is responsible for handling the information you send through this website. For a privacy question or a request about your information, use the contact form.

Information you provide

Our contact forms ask for your name, email address and message. The schools form also asks about your role, school or organisation and the subject of your enquiry. We receive the information you submit and any subsequent correspondence. Fields marked as required are needed to send the form; you can also contact us by email.

Please provide only what is relevant. Do not include identifiable pupil information, health information, safeguarding reports or other sensitive personal details in a website enquiry. These forms are for making contact, not for submitting pupil records.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to answer your questions, discuss a programme or partnership and manage the resulting correspondence. For ordinary enquiries, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and running Luminae’s activities. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, those steps may instead be necessary before entering that contract.

Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Where you separately request email updates, that request applies to those updates; you can ask us to stop at any time.

Services involved in handling information

Our website and email services are involved in receiving, transmitting and storing enquiries. Service providers supporting hosting, email delivery, security and website maintenance may process information for those purposes. We may also need to disclose information where the law requires it.

For details about the providers involved in your enquiry, their processing locations or any applicable international-transfer arrangements, contact us at the address above.

How long information is kept

Enquiries should be retained for as long as needed to deal with the request and any resulting relationship. Relevant correspondence may need to be kept longer for record-keeping, resolving a complaint or meeting legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the purpose, whether the matter remains active and any applicable obligations. You can ask us to explain the retention arrangements for your information.

Optional website analytics

If you select “Accept analytics”, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, page reading and navigation, and successful enquiry submissions. It uses cookies and browser identifiers. We do not send your name, email address, message, school name or copied text through our analytics events.

You can reject analytics and still use the website. You can withdraw consent using “Analytics choices” on any page. Withdrawal stops future Google Analytics collection; it does not automatically remove information already collected.

User-level and event-level analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. Aggregated reports may remain available longer. Your analytics consent choice is remembered for six months. We disable Google Signals and advertising personalisation.

Website features, cookies and external content

Operating the website involves technical information such as a visitor’s IP address, browser details and requests to the server. Embedded podcast players and other externally hosted features connect to their providers, which may receive technical information and use browser storage under their own policies.

You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser, although blocking them may affect some features. A link to another website takes you outside this policy: please read that provider’s privacy information before supplying personal details. This notice does not mean that every external service uses anonymous data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send privacy requests to contact form. We may need enough information to verify your identity before responding.

You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data-protection regulator.

Schools and future changes

This is a website notice, not a pupil-data agreement for a school programme or RIPPL activity. Any collection of pupil information needs its own arrangements and appropriate information for the school and participants.

We will revise this notice when the website’s use of personal information changes. The date above identifies this version.
